Are your bones strong and healthy?
Our volunteer services department offers free osteoporosis screening on select days each week. This simple screening takes just a few minutes and is performed on your bare heel. When the screening is complete, you’ll receive a report detailing your results that you can share with your doctor.
Facts about Osteoporosis
People with osteoporosis have weak, brittle, porous bones and they are prone to hip and spine fractures that can cause disability and pain. While it’s most commonly seen in women and those over the age of 50, younger people can also develop the disease.
Your risk for Osteoporosis increases for:

Women (because of bone structure)

You can reduce your risk by:

Not smoking
-
Walking or exercising regularly
-
Getting adequate calcium and Vitamin D
-
Taking prescribed medications
